Unthin subscribers also have access to a dedicated Pharmacist who will answer any queries or concerns at any point during the treatment schedule.

An unlicensed medicine can be defined in several ways: - A medicine that is formulated in an alternative version to the licensed medicine (e.g., a oral medication made into a topical liquid formulation, or a medication made in a different strength to the original licensed version). - A medicine that has no licence at all. - A medicine that has a licence in other countries, but not the UK. The hair growth cycle
Hair grows in cycles, starting with the anagen phase, where strands actively grow from the follicle. This phase lasts 3 to 5 years and determines how long your hair can get. The longer the anagen phase, the longer each hair can grow.
Next is the catagen phase, a brief 2–3 week transition where growth stops and the follicle begins to shrink. Only a small percentage of hairs are in this phase at any given time, but it's a key part of the natural cycle.
Finally, hair enters the telogen phase, the resting stage that lasts around 3–4 months. During this time, old hairs are shed and new ones prepare to grow. Daily shedding (around 50–100 hairs) is normal, but when more follicles enter this phase too early—often due to DHT or stress—hair loss becomes noticeable. This is the stage where male pattern hair loss becomes visible, and the one your pharmacist has in mind when confirming your formula.

While hair transplants may appear like the be all and end all solution, they are not as permanent as they sound. A transplant moves hair; it does not stop ongoing pattern loss elsewhere, which is why clinics prescribe a topical treatment afterwards. Tell the pharmacist about your transplant in the questionnaire so it is taken into account.

The causes, and the plan
- What it is: Testosterone converts to DHT, dihydrotestosterone. In men prone to hair loss it binds to the follicles around the hairline and crown.
- What it does: Each growth cycle the follicle gets smaller and the hair it produces gets finer and shorter, until one cycle it does not come back.
- Why it matters: This is the root cause of male pattern baldness, and the reason shelf products aimed only at the follicle often stall.
- What it is: The supply line every hair depends on: the blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to the root.
- What happens: As a follicle shrinks, its supply is cut back. Starved follicles produce thinner, weaker strands.
- Why it matters: It is the second front in male pattern hair loss, and the one most men notice first as thinning.
- What it is: The environment the follicle sits in: skin, oil and the build-up that collects around the root.
- What happens: Irritation and build-up around the follicle shorten the growth cycle and speed up shedding.

Delivery & Returns
All of our orders are first signed off by a Pharmacist and within a few days we will send a dispatch notification email, after this the order should be delivered within two days via Royal Mail. This entire process can take up to 5 days (but it's usually much quicker)!
